Mumbai: Fourteen years after they captivated audiences in the 2012 crime thriller Jannat 2, Bollywood actors Emraan Hashmi and Randeep Hooda are reportedly set to share the screen once again. According to recent reports, the dynamic duo will reunite for an upcoming action thriller produced by industry heavyweight Sajid Nadiadwala.
The untitled project marks a significant casting coup for Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, a production banner known for delivering large-scale action franchises like Kick and Baaghi. Sources close to the development revealed that Sajid Nadiadwala recently met with Emraan Hashmi to narrate a script that perfectly aligns with the actor’s current career trajectory.
“Randeep has had a great experience working with Sajid bhai in the past, and he is now teaming up with Emraan again in this yet-to-be-titled action thriller. The two have previously worked together in Jannat 2,” a source shared, confirming the initial casting details. While the exact plot remains tightly under wraps, industry insiders suggest the film will be a high-octane action drama.
In Jannat 2, Hashmi played the role of an illegal arms dealer, while Hooda portrayed a tough, no-nonsense police officer. Their gripping cop-informer dynamic was one of the major highlights of the Kunal Deshmukh directorial. Fans are now eagerly speculating whether the new film will feature them as rivals or partners in this fresh action-oriented narrative.
The shooting for the highly anticipated project is slated to begin in 2027, with the makers aiming for a theatrical release towards the end of that year. At present, only Emraan Hashmi and Randeep Hooda have been officially linked to the project, and further announcements regarding the remaining ensemble cast and the director are expected soon.
Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming action-romantic film, Gunmaster G9. Directed by Aditya Datt, the movie is scheduled to hit theatres on November 27 and features Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana in pivotal roles. Randeep Hooda, who recently collaborated with Sajid Nadiadwala on another project, continues to expand his versatile filmography in intense, character-driven roles.
