New Delhi: Capitalising on the presence of key state leaders in the national capital, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin hosted a high-profile “dinner diplomacy” meeting at his residence on Wednesday evening. The special gathering brought together Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, state-level Jal Shakti ministers, and senior party functionaries.
This marks the first large-scale dinner gathering hosted by Nabin since he assumed the mantle of the party’s national president.
The guest list featured several prominent leaders who were already stationed in New Delhi for the two-day departmental summit organised by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. Attendees arriving at Nabin’s residence included Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Uttarakhand Jal Shakti Minister Satpal Maharaj, and Delhi leader Parvesh Verma.
Rather than convening a separate political meeting at the party headquarters, the BJP chief efficiently utilised the leaders’ ongoing visit to host an informal yet politically significant working dinner. According to party insiders, the gathering was strategically designed to foster better coordination between NDA-ruled states and the central leadership.
While the ambience remained informal, the underlying agenda was sharply focused on the party’s roadmap for the future. Sources indicated that the dinner served as a critical platform to brainstorm organisational strategies for upcoming elections and to discuss ways to further strengthen the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the grassroots level.
Given the significant presence of state water ministers, developmental policy also occupied a major portion of the evening’s discussions. The leaders reportedly engaged in talks regarding the rapid and effective execution of flagship government schemes, particularly the Jal Jeevan Mission, alongside various regional water conservation initiatives.
Political observers view this gathering as a proactive consolidation exercise by the new BJP president, seamlessly blending vital policy discussions with crucial organizational strategizing ahead of future electoral battles.
