Vadodora: In a tragic and chilling incident, a seven-year-old boy lost his life after his neck was trapped in the automatic hydraulic door of a luxury bus in Gujarat’s Vadodara. The tragedy, which occurred at a local bus repair workshop, has deepened into a mystery after investigators discovered that the CCTV footage capturing the exact moment of the incident is inexplicably missing.
The incident took place in the Suryanagar area, situated on the route from Tarsali Bypass to Dhanyavi. According to local authorities, the victim, identified as Divesh, was playing near a garage with other neighborhood children, as they routinely did. A luxury bus belonging to J.G. Travels had been parked at the facility for air conditioning repairs. Moments later, the young boy was found fatally trapped in the vehicle’s heavy hydraulic door.
Following the incident, a team from the Kapurai Police Station rushed to the scene. However, what initially appeared to be a horrific freak accident took a suspicious turn during the preliminary investigation. While police were able to recover CCTV footage from before and after the boy’s death, the exact timeframe showing how Divesh got trapped in the door was entirely missing.
The absence of this critical evidence has prompted investigators to probe whether the death was a mere accident or the result of severe criminal negligence. To uncover the truth, the police have enlisted the help of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to conduct a meticulous technical and scientific analysis of the bus.
“The bus belonging to J.G. Travels was parked at the garage during the day, and its door and locking system operate entirely on hydraulic technology,” stated Vadodara Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abhishek Gupta. “Children from the surrounding areas often play there. We have roped in the FSL team to determine the exact amount of pressure required from the inside or outside to open and close this door. All scientific evidence is being collected, and every aspect of the CCTV footage is being thoroughly investigated.”
The local community remains in a state of shock as authorities continue to piece together the events that led to the young boy’s untimely demise. Further updates are expected as the forensic and police investigations progress.
