Haridwar: The ongoing Kanwar Yatra in Uttarakhand has brought millions of devotees to the holy city of Haridwar. While the pilgrimage is known for its spiritual fervour, a bizarre incident has grabbed the attention of both the public and law enforcement. The local police seized a heavily modified motorcycle fitted with an astonishing 500 horns.
The motorcycle belongs to Aman, a resident of Faridabad in Haryana. According to reports, he had customised the vehicle extensively to grab attention during the Kanwar Yatra. The youth arrived in Haridwar with the intention of performing stunts and showing off the massive cluster of horns. However, his plan backfired when the motorcycle reached the bustling Shankaracharya Chowk.
The sheer volume of the horns and the unusual look of the bike quickly drew a large crowd. The commotion led to severe traffic disruptions in the area. Traffic police personnel stationed at the busy intersection immediately noticed the chaotic scene and intercepted the vehicle.
Noticing the illegal modifications and the blatant violation of traffic rules, the authorities took swift action. The motorcycle was impounded on the spot. A video of a police officer from the Kankhal police station riding the seized 500 horn motorcycle to the station was recorded by a bystander. This clip has now gone viral across social media platforms.
Anuj Kumar, the Senior Sub Inspector of Kankhal police station, confirmed the developments. He stated that the vehicle was stopped during a routine checking drive at Shankaracharya Chowk. The official explained that fitting 500 horns and heavily altering the bike is a direct violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. Consequently, a challan was issued and the vehicle was confiscated.
The Haridwar police administration has issued a stern warning to all pilgrims participating in the Kanwar Mela. Officials have made it clear that strict legal action will be taken against anyone using modified silencers, pressure horns, or engaging in hooliganism. The authorities are maintaining a zero tolerance policy towards noise pollution and traffic violations to ensure a peaceful environment during the religious gathering.
