New Delhi: In a strong reassertion of India’s territorial sovereignty, Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the only leader with the political resolve capable of handling the integration of Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir into the Indian Republic. The Minister described the ongoing situation in the occupied territories as an outstanding issue that needs decisive resolution. He emphasized that the complete integration of these regions remains a non negotiable agenda for the current central government.

The statement brings renewed attention to the long standing geopolitical conflict over the region. Highlighting the historical context, the Union Minister recalled the historic parliamentary resolution passed unanimously in 1994 under the PV Narasimha Rao government. The landmark resolution explicitly declared that the entire territories of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh are an integral part of India, a position that the Bharatiya Janata Party had completely supported through an affirmative vote in Parliament at the time.

Expressing deep concern over the prevailing conditions in the region, the Minister noted that the residents of the occupied territories have been subjected to systemic neglect. He stated that the people living there have consistently been treated as second class citizens by the establishment in Islamabad, being deprived of basic human rights and development opportunities. Singh reasserted that the only real matter left to discuss between the two neighbouring nations is the mechanism to safely bring the occupied land back under Indian administration.

The firm remarks coincide with sharp diplomatic exchanges at the global stage. Earlier, India strongly countered joint statements made by Pakistan and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation at the United Nations Human Rights Council. Indian diplomats at the global forum categorically rejected all external references to the union territories, maintaining that the entire region remains an inalienable component of the nation.

The political declaration highlights a continued strategic focus on territorial consolidation following the legislative changes of 2019. While international observers closely monitor the borders, the central government has made it clear that achieving a unified India is a primary goal. The firm stance signals that the administration will maintain its high pressure diplomatic policy regarding its northern frontiers.
