New Delhi: The investigation into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has taken a dramatic turn after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) uncovered startling details about one of the accused students, identified as Rishi. According to probe officials, the student had reportedly secured extremely low marks in his Class 12 board examinations despite allegedly attempting to crack one of the country’s toughest medical entrance exams through leaked papers.
Sources associated with the investigation revealed that Rishi had scored only 20 marks in Biology, while his Physics and Chemistry scores were also poor. Officials said he managed to pass with the help of grace marks. The revelation has intensified concerns over the growing influence of organised paper leak rackets targeting competitive examinations.
The CBI, which recently took over the case, is probing a suspected multi-state network linked to the leak. Investigators are examining the role of middlemen, coaching operators and possible insiders connected to the examination process. Multiple arrests have already been made in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Haryana as agencies attempt to trace the origin of the leaked question paper.
Officials believe the leaked paper was circulated to candidates for lakhs of rupees before the examination. Reports suggest portions of the so-called “guess paper” matched the actual NEET question paper almost exactly, raising serious questions over exam security.
The controversy has sparked outrage among students and parents across the country, with demands growing for strict action against those involved in the alleged scam.
