Patna: In a fiery response to the late Saturday night arrest of JD(U) candidate Anant Singh in connection with the murder of Jansuraj Party worker Dularchand Yadav in Mokama on October 30, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has slammed the Nitish Kumar government, alleging “jungle raj” prevails in Bihar.

“The arrest was inevitable given the gravity of the incident,” Tejashwi said, accusing PM Modi of turning a blind eye to rising crimes in areas like Ara and Sasaram.

Dubbing Bihar a lawless state, the former Deputy CM made a stunning prediction: “The Mahagathbandhan government is forming soon. Our swearing-in will happen on November 18. From November 26 to January 26, all criminals — irrespective of caste — will be arrested within a month.” He vowed swift action against lawbreakers once in power.

Echoing the attack, Tejashwi’s sister and RJD MP Misa Bharti claimed the Election Commission’s intervention forced the arrest, not the state government. “The Nitish government shielded Anant Singh, releasing him from jail during elections,” she alleged, while highlighting disruptions to street vendors due to PM Modi’s roadshows.

RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari described it as a desperate attempt to maintain credibility, urging Modi to provide an explanation for the “goonda raj”. JD(U) responded by asserting that the legal process will unfold naturally.

The arrest has ignited political fireworks ahead of polls, with the Opposition sensing a shift.
