Ujjain: In a remarkable move, the Maharshi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, has decided to replace the term ‘India’ with Bharat in all its official documents. Under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vijay Kumar J.C., the university’s governing body unanimously approved the decision. The proposal, which was made in front of the council by council member Gaurav Dhakad, corresponds with the measures for encouraging names labelled according to the arrangement in the house regarding the justification behind such moves by the Prime Minister and the state Chief Minister.

Gaurav Dhakad explained that the initiative is part of a larger campaign to replace words with more ‘desi’ or Indian sounds. As a result, terms such as Bharat would henceforth replace India from the university’s website, administrative documents, student records, and calendars. Kul Sachiv: Dr. Dilip Soni, Vishwas Vyas, Dr. Keshar Singh Chauhan, Harish Vyas, Sumina Ligga, and Geetanjali Chaurasia were present in the meeting, among others.

The decision comes after a long-debated topic, including recent discussions by the RSS, which suggested referring to the country as “Bharat” instead of “India.” RSS has also claimed that the name of the country is “Bharat,” and this “Bharat” is also “Bharat” as well as India. Therefore, it needs to be corrected; try to use the name “Bharat” frequently.

In addition to this, the university aims to expand its reach by recruiting more Sanskrit experts and students to serve as teachers for interested students. The university has created a “pool of resources system” on its website, which lists qualified instructors to serve to make this happen.
