Delhi Raid busts Terror Funding Network; Kingpin Arrested: Cops

New Delhi: Delhi is reminiscent of a film-like plot, as agencies arrest a suspect in terror links in a top-secret mission. The CIK said the operation was conducted with the help of CI -Cell Delhi and other partner agencies, with all preparations being made in a hush-hush manner so that the suspect could not escape.

According to sources, the arrested individual is Parvez Ahmad Khan, also known as PK, Sheikh Tajamul Islam, and Khalid. Parvez Ahmad Khan is a resident of Farooq Colony, Bemina, Srinagar. Authorities reported that Parvez had been missing for an extended period and was the subject of FIR No. 02/2024.

Central agencies uncovered that Parvez funded terrorist outfits and had links with organisations banned across the LoC, they said. All of these had been part of a larger network which the CIK had been investigating for providing financial and logistical support to terror outfits in Jammu and Kashmir.

The authorities said money was transferred across the LoC through multiple channels, following which it was handed over to terror outfits through courier boys. The man’s arrest had also been a critical part of this network; the suspect was helping to facilitate the transfer of money and supplies for terrorism organisations.

Additionally, CIK headquarters had planned the operation at least two days earlier. However, they placed Parvez under both technical and physical surveillance, as he kept shifting locations to evade arrest.

A Srinagar court had issued a warrant for his arrest. Security officials then obtained a transit remand from a Delhi court, after which he was to be flown to Srinagar. Upon his arrival, the court will bring him in for further legal processes.
