Mumbai: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, dance choreographer Dhanashree Verma, have finalised their divorce proceedings. The couple has been called to appear at the Family Court in Bandra, Mumbai, to complete the final formalities.
According to ABP News, the couple has been summoned to the family court to complete the final proceedings, after which they will officially receive their divorce certificate. Reports indicate that the decision to part ways was mutual, based on mutual consent.
In recent weeks, rumours of a rift in their marriage had been circulating, though neither Chahal nor Dhanashree had confirmed these speculations. The buzz gained momentum after they both unfollowed each other on Instagram, and their joint activities noticeably diminished.
Interestingly, both Chahal and Dhanashree shared cryptic messages on their respective Instagram accounts. Chahal wrote, “God has saved me many times. I can only ponder the instances in which I found salvation unknowingly. Thank you, God, for always being with me.” On the other hand, Dhanashree posted, “From stress to blessings. Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings?”
Chahal has been out of international cricket for a while and fell out of favour with national selectors in 2023 due to poor form. However, he is set to play for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the upcoming IPL 2025 season, having been bought for a hefty sum of ₹18 crore.
With this divorce, the love story of Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma comes to a new chapter. The couple, who married in 2020, had a highly publicised relationship. It’s unclear how both of them will now prioritise their respective careers.
