New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stepped into the controversy surrounding Dr Ambedkar by posting a series of direct tweets that sharply criticize the Congress partys actions, in the matter. The move comes as opposition parties are protesting against Home Minister Amit Shahs comments regarding Dr Ambedkar.
Modi asserted in his tweet that Congress and its corrupt system are mistaken if they think their deceitful actions can conceal their history of wrongdoing and lack of respect, for Dr Ambedkar.
In writings and speeches delivered by the Prime Minister revealed his accusations, against the political party led by a dynasty for deliberately trying to erase the legacy of Dr Ambedkar and disrespect SC/ST communities systematically. He listed what he described as the “wrongdoings of Congress against Dr Ambedkar,” which involved defeating him in elections, with then Prime Minister Nehru actively campaigning against him and turning it into a matter of pride.
Modi also pointed out the Congress for not honoring Dr Ambedkar with the Bharat Ratna and not giving his portrait a spot, in Parliaments Central Hall.”The Congress cannot ignore the fact that the worst massacres against SC/ST communities happened during their governance ” Modi. Mentioned that after being in power, for many years the party did not take effective steps to uplift these communities.
The Prime Ministers involvement has greatly heightened the discussion surrounding the Ambedkar controversy that started with Home Minister Shahs statements, in parliament.
