Kejriwal said he has nothing to hide and is ready to face any legal challenge

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has termed the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) summons to him in a money laundering case linked to the excise policy as “illegal” and “politically motivated.” The ED issued fresh summons to Kejriwal on Monday for questioning.

Kejriwal said he has nothing to hide and is ready to face any legal challenge. “This ED summons is also illegal, like the previous summons. The ED summons is politically motivated,” the Delhi CM said.

Kejriwal said the summonses should be withdrawn. “I have lived my life with honesty and integrity. I don’t have anything to hide,” he said.

Kejriwal was scheduled to appear before the ED on Wednesday, but he left for a 10-day Vipassana meditation session. Officials gave this information.

The ED had earlier summoned Kejriwal on November 2, but he did not appear on this day. Kejriwal had termed the notice “illegal and politically motivated.”

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that the party’s lawyers are studying the ED notice and legal action will be taken accordingly. The party said Kejriwal’s Vipassana session was pre-scheduled, and this was known to all.
