New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has reportedly asked the Finance Ministry to take appropriate action against former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official Sameer Wankhede for his ‘shoddy investigation’ into the drugs-on-cruise drugs case in which Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was among those arrested.
Action has been initiated in Wankhede’s fake caste certificate matter as well, India Today reported quoting government sources.
Aryan was given a clean chit by NCB on Friday after the central agency had filed a 6,000-page chargesheet.
The fake caste certificate issue against Wankhede – an Indian Revenue Service officer — was brought up by NCP leader Nawab Malik, who was later arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Wankhede had led a raid on Cordelia cruise ship in October 2021 as then Mumbai zone director of NCB. Aryan and 21 others were arrested, and it was after a 26-day jail custody that Shah Rukh’s son was granted bail.
The case was transferred from NCB Mumbai zone to Delhi’s central team, while Wankhede was removed and a vigilance probe initiated against him amid allegations of corruption.
