New Delhi: The Facebook and Instagram pages of the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps remain blocked for over a week.
The matter has been taken up with Facebook, but no response has come yet, Defence Ministry sources said, according to NDTV.
Here’s what news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) tweeted:
Facebook and Instagram have blocked handles of Indian Army’s Chinar Corps for over a week now and have not responded to official communication in this regard: Officials

“A link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed,” reads the message on both the Facebook and Instagram pages of the Chinar Corps.
The Chinar Corps created the Facebook and Instagram pages to counter fake news and lies being circulated on social media and to present the real ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir, NDTV reported quoting sources.
Here’s how Twitterati reacted to the news:
They’re up to their dirty tricks again? Why does our government not ban fb & insta? Once we ban, we will come up with our own versions of these social media apps and they’ll also understand what it is to lose business from such a highly populated country.

When it comes to dealing with these western tech giants and press, for some reason we behave like slaves and completely bend over. Why Modiji why ?

Because Modi depends on them to win elections. If not for these tech apps he would have never become Prime Minister.
