Domestic Cricket Season In India To Start From This Date

New Delhi: With COVID-19 pandemic slowing down drastically, the domestic cricket season is set to take off from next year.

In a communication to the state bodies, secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Jay Shah said the domestic season will start with Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy from January 10. The tournament will end on January 31 in a bio-secure environment.

Though Shah’s letter does not specify the details of the venues for the tournament, it could be played in six bio-bubbles across zones.
The decision on Ranji Trophy would be taken after the T20 tournament depending on the feedback.

Besides, the BCCI has extended the last date for the inter-state transfer and registration of guest players till December 20, 2020.
