Family Awaits Return Of 15-Yr-Old Arrested For Threatening To Blow Up Yogi Adityanath

Agra: The family of a 15-year-old boy from Agra, who was on Sunday picked up by Uttar Pradesh police for allegedly threatening to ‘blow’ up Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is awaiting his return.

“We are making efforts and the father of the boy has gone to Lucknow to ensure his release,” the boy’s 70-year-old grandmother said, adding that she was not at home when the juvenile was taken away.

“My grandson is a simple boy and should not be treated as a criminal for his childish act,” the optimistic grandmother was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.

According to the police, the minor boy – son of a school teacher — had sent the threat through WhatsApp to UP’s Dial 112 helpline number. The mobile phone number from which it was sent was traced by the cyber cell, and the user happened to be a boy from a village of Agra district.

Two cops went to his house and took him to Lucknow. He was presented before a Juvenile Board, before being sent to a juvenile home in the city.
