Web surfers are furious at TikTok star Faisal Siddiqui who recently posted a video that glorifies acid attack on women. In this video, he can be seen singing and throwing liquid at a fellow female TikTocker who comes on screen with a crying painted face.
Faisal is the brother of Amir Siddiqui who was recently involved in a controversy with YouTube celebrity CarryMinaty over YouYube vs Tik Tok fling.
The video has resulted in Twitteratis sharing his post and demanding a ban on TikTok in India with a trending hashtag #BanTikTok. BJP MLA Tajinder Singh Bagga condemned the video in his Twitter post, following which Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of National Commission for Women, demanded a probe into the matter along with a ban and removal of Faisal’s ID.

The TikTok menace isn’t a new thing since the platform has landed itself into trouble multiple times before. The app was previously banned by Madras High Court for degrading Indian culture, use of pornography, circulation of disturbing content and propagating medical health issues among teens. However, the ban was later lifted with TikTok incurring huge losses.
All these controversies have resulted in TikTok losing ratings on Google Play Store. Meanwhile, netizens continue to demand a total ban on the app, reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call of “Local for Vocal”.
