Yogi’s Ayodhya Ambition: BJP Boosts By-Election Battle

Ayodhya: For the first time since the Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Ayodhya, where he offered prayers at the Ramlala and Hanumangarhi temples. On Tuesday, the Chief Minister also convened a meeting with BJP leaders, emphasizing the party’s resolve to secure future victories in the region.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, determined to lead the BJP to victory, met with local MLAs before engaging in an hour-long meeting with BJP leaders from Ayodhya. This visit followed the recent success of Samajwadi Party candidate Awadhesh Prasad, who won the Faizabad seat, previously held by the BJP. The Samajwadi Party’s triumph has galvanized the BJP to strategize for upcoming by-elections, particularly targeting the Milkipur seat to counterbalance their loss in Faizabad.

Strategic Shift in Election Campaign

Highlighting a shift in campaign strategy, CM Yogi Adityanath urged BJP leaders to focus on door-to-door outreach rather than large public gatherings. “The need is to go to every voter’s house. We have to win their minds,” he emphasized during the meeting. The Chief Minister’s directive was clear: avoid taking risks and ensure a robust and united front.

The meeting outlined specific roles for leaders, aiming to galvanize support and counter the Samajwadi Party’s influence, particularly among backward and Dalit voters who shifted allegiances during the Lok Sabha elections. To reclaim this voter base, the BJP has devised a novel strategy for the by-elections, forming a diverse team of ministers to engage with different caste groups and consolidate support.

Unified Effort for By-Election Success

A core committee comprising prominent BJP leaders, including Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary, and Organization Minister Dharampal Singh, has been established to oversee the by-election preparations. These leaders are tasked with mobilizing support and ensuring the execution of the campaign strategy.

The BJP’s renewed focus on Ayodhya underscores its commitment to regain dominance in the region. By leveraging targeted outreach and community engagement, the party aims to fortify its position and address the challenges posed by the Samajwadi Party’s recent successes.
