WhatsApp Introduces ‘Frequently Forwarded’ Tag To Stop Spread Of Fake News

WhatsApp is rolling out a new ‘Frequently Forwarded’ feature in India. Last month, the company had rolled out a forward label that shows users if a message is forwarded or not.

The ‘frequently fowarded’ tag is a step to curb fake news propaganda. Users will now get a “forwarded many times” label alert. When a message is forwarded from one user to another more than five times, it is indicated with a double arrow icon, the company notified.

Currently, the feature is being rolled out, and hasn’t been updated for every user.

WhatsApp is also in the process of allowing users to use their account on multiple devices.
