Tokyo: Odisha’s champion para shuttler Pramod Bhagat won gold for India at the BWF Para Badminton World Championships held in Tokyo.
Bhagat defended his god medal in men’s singles SL3 at the international event by defeating Nitesh Kumar in straight games on Sunday. He clinched his 4th singles gold beating Kumar 21-19, 21-19 in 53 minutes.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the ace para shuttler from the state on his victory at the World Championships.

With this, Indian Para Badminton Team won 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 12 Bronze medals at BWF Para Badminton World Championships held between from November 1.
Bhagat had defeated Japan’s Daisuke Fujihara 22-20, 21-14 on Saturday to enter the men’s singles SL3 finals of BWF Para Badminton World Championships.
