Violence At Hindu Temple In Canada – Indian Government Demands Swift Justice!

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi has not taken lightly recent attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. On Monday night 4th November Modi used X (formerly twitter) to come out strongly against the attack on the temple describing it as a deliberate act of violence. He said, “I want to categorically say I do not support the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. The epic feats are no less terrible, the cowardly attempts to scare our diplomats. No act of violence shall demoralise the nation and India will rise with much strength in the face of such barbaric acts. This means our expectations are that the Canadian government by will solve the issues of justice in accordance to the Cananda laws.

Besides Modi’s statement, the Indian government condemning the violence at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton was also stated. The incident allegedly by the extremists and separatists forced the ministry to strongly react through India’s Ministry of External Affairs complaining primarily about the safety of Indian citizens in Canada. In a statement issued on Monday the Ministry affirmed its stand that those who caused the violence should be punished.

Indian government reacts with concern enctype AAC

In the statement issued in this case, the spokesperson of the Ministry is Randhir Jaiswal, who said, “We condemn the violence done by the extremities and those in favour of separatism in the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Ontario. We humbly appeal to the Canadian government to make sure that none of these places of worship is vulnerable to such attacks. Jaiswal also stressed, “This we want done in parallel with ensuring that those who participated in the violence are charged.” Our concern is the protection of the Indian people living in Canada spearheaded by the Indian Consulate in Toronto. The consulate officials to be posted in Canada will not be cowed into surrendering to threat, intimidation or any acts of violence as they will protect the interest both the Indian and Canadians.

According to the CBC, Peel Regional Police claimed that there was a protest near a temple in Brampton on Sunday, 3rd November. Preliminary circulation of the videos from the event include protesters with banners supporting Khalistan, however the video cannot be independently verified.

Canada’s worship places called upon to enhance security

The Indian government has been very vocal thus calling on the Canadian authorities to safeguard of the places of worship for Hindus and other faiths as well. The statement insisted on the fact that it would be impossible to instil any sense of fear among diplomats or members of the Indian expatriate community. India’s expectation is that the Canadian law enforcement authorities have to move with speed and ensure that the lives and property of the citizens are protected as well as religions are no longer provided for.
