Kochi: An FIR has been filed by forest officials of Mannarkkad against unidentified people under Wild Life Protection Act over the death of a pregnant elephant who was fed a pineapple stuffed with crackers.
The elephant on Wednesday ate the pineapple which was allegedly left by some locals. The crackers exploded in the elephant’s mouth leading to its death in the water in Malappuram.
The horrific incident has caught eyeballs of several celebrities including Virat Kohli, Randeep Hooda. Many on Twitter drew up artwork condemning the incident.
