Trump Warns Of ICE Crackdown At Airports As DHS Funding Row Pushes US Towards Shutdown
In a fiery escalation of the bitter funding dispute, US President Donald Trump has threatened to deploy federal immigration agents across American airports if Democrats refuse to back the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill immediately.
The warning came hours after the Senate failed to pass the crucial legislation on Friday, with Democrats withholding their support and bringing the nation perilously close to a government shutdown.
Taking to his Truth Social platform, President Trump declared, “If the radical left Democrats do not immediately sign an agreement to make our country, especially our airports, free and safe again, then I will deploy my brilliant and patriotic ICE agents to the airports, where they will implement unprecedented security measures, including the immediate arrest of all illegal immigrants entering our country, particularly those from Somalia.”
He sharply criticised Somali migrants in Minnesota, accusing them of ruining the state with the approval of a “corrupt governor, attorney general, and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.”
Democrats argue that current immigration enforcement practices are deeply concerning, while Republicans insist that approving DHS funds is vital for border security and keeping the government operational.
Trump concluded with his signature call: “Make America Great Again!”
The standoff has once again exposed the deep partisan divide gripping Washington over immigration and budget priorities.
