Toolkit Case: Court Sends Disha Ravi To One-Day Police Custody

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday sent climate activist Disha Ravi to a one-day police custody.

Delhi Police had sought five days of custody of Disha in connection with the toolkit case.

Disha, who was arrested from Bengaluru on February 13 on the charge of creating a widely shared toolkit in support of farmers protesting against the farm laws, was presented in court on Monday when her three-day judicial custody ended.

Police said they require the 22-year-old’s custody for questioning, along with co-accused Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk.

According to police, Disha was part of an international plan to instigate violence in India.

Disha’s lawyer Siddharth Agarwal argued that she has already been questioned by the police.

“The police has a right to interrogate the accused even in jail. Why would you require to take her in police custody?” asked Agarwal.

The court has reserved its order on Disha’s bail plea. Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana is expected to pass an order on Tuesday.
