Patna: In a stunning post-poll twist, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav gleefully celebrated the Mahagathbandhan’s crushing defeat while launching a blistering attack on his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav and the RJD, calling the debacle a “victory hidden in defeat”.

Posting on his Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD) Facebook page hours after losing his own Mahua seat, Tej Pratap declared, “Tejashwi has failed. This is the defeat of ‘Jaichands’ who hollowed out RJD from within.” He accused family-centric politics of destroying the party and predicted Congress’s complete wipeout from Bihar, adding that history would never forgive those who “set their own house on fire for personal gain”.

Remarkably, the former minister lavished praise on the NDA victors. Hailing Narendra Modi as “the world’s strongest and most successful leader”, he credited the landslide to Amit Shah’s Chanakya-like strategy, Nitish Kumar’s good governance, and the unbreakable unity of NDA’s “five Pandavas”. He wrote, “Bihar has chosen su-shasan over parivarvad,” promising to play a “creative role” in the public interest while remaining open to Mahua’s voters despite the loss.

Tej Pratap concluded philosophically: “True victory lies in honest intent and effort. The people’s love is my biggest capital. We will return stronger as the voice of the people.”

The outburst has set off fresh speculation about deepening fissures in the Yadav family and the future of RJD under Tejashwi’s leadership.
