Mumbai: During a press meet on Monday, Mumbai Police Commissioner revealed that Sushant Singh Rajput’s bank account statements from January 2019 to June 2020 have been analysed and Rs 4 crore is still credited in the actor’s account.
As per a report in NDTV, commissioner Param Bir Singh stated that initially there was Rs 18 crore in the actor’s account, of which Rs 4 crore is currently there in the account.
They haven’t yet found find a direct transaction between the late actor and his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. However, investigation is on and police will be looking into other transactions done through the account as well.
Divulging Sushant’s bank account details, Mumbai Police Commissioner said, “During the probe, we found he had Rs 18 crore in his account, of which around Rs 4.5 crore are still there. Till now, no direct transfer to Rhea Chakraborty’s account has been found, we are still investigating.”
Sushant’s CA Sandeep Sridhar, who was appointed by Rhea, had earlier stated that the actor didn’t have the money claimed by his family members in his account.
According to a report in India Today, CA Sandeep refuted the claims made by Sushant’s father in the FIR alleging that Rhea had siphoned Rs 15 crore from the actor. The CA had told the Mumbai police that the actor’s income had dropped in the last one year and he didn’t have sufficient money in his account.
“No major transfer except a few thousand to Rhea’s account. Once, Rhea’s mother had transferred him Rs 33,000. He was a filmstar, so he had to maintain his lifestyle and expenses. They both travelled together and he lived as per his wish,” Sandeep told India Today.
“He would spend on shopping and further expenses like rent and other things like travel when they travelled together. His net worth was not that much as is being claimed. His income had dropped for the last one year,” he added.
According to a Republic TV report, transactions done from Sushant’s account over the last year include expenses like flight tickets, hotel stay, tuition fees, shopping, and more were made for Rhea and her brother Showik.
“With a balance of over Rs 4 crores 62 lakh in November 2019, Sushant’s bank balance dropped to just little over Rs 1 crore in Feb 2020, documents showed. From flight tickets worth Rs. 81,000 for Showik Chakraborty, Rhea’s hair, makeup, shopping, parlour expense, worth over 1 lakh, to her personal expenses, Sushant’s bank statements revealed shocking details,” reported Republic TV.
The statements made by the Mumbai Police on Monday and the actor’s CA on July 30, relating to Sushant’s bank account details, are quite contradictory.
