Banda: Joy turned into profound sorrow in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district when a recently promoted army personnel passed away from a sudden heart attack just before assuming his new responsibilities. The deceased, identified as Shivmurat Patel, was serving in the Chhattisgarh Armed Force and had recently been promoted from the rank of a constable to a Havildar.
According to reports, Patel, the son of Motilal Patel and a native of Para Bihari village in the Baberu tehsil of Banda, was travelling to join his new posting when the tragedy occurred. His sudden demise sent shockwaves through his family and his native village, where his recent professional achievement was a matter of great pride.
When Patel’s mortal remains, draped in the tricolour, reached his ancestral village, a sombre atmosphere descended upon the area. Hundreds of villagers, relatives, and people from surrounding regions gathered to catch a final glimpse of the departed soldier. The heartbreaking scene saw inconsolable family members mourning the untimely loss of their son.
The final rites were conducted in the presence of police administration officials, local public representatives, and a massive gathering of villagers. Former assembly candidate Ajay Singh Patel and Baberu Block Pramukh Ramakant Patel were among those who attended the cremation, expressing their deep condolences to the grieving family. They remarked that the untimely demise of the brave soldier was an irreparable loss to the entire region.
Locals remembered Shivmurat Patel as a highly sociable, dutiful, and disciplined individual who dedicated his service years to the nation and society with utmost devotion. While his elevation to the rank of Havildar was a moment of celebration for the village, his sudden departure before taking up his new role has left everyone deeply shaken and grief-stricken.
