New Delhi: As the nation celebrates Raksha Bandhan, the festival symbolising the affection between brothers and sisters, with great enthusiasm today, political leaders have joined in the festivities while sharing their perspectives on current issues. In Etawah, Samajwadi Party’s National General Secretary, Shivpal Singh Yadav, visited his sister Kamla Devi’s home to mark the occasion. The leader was seen tying Rakhi with his sister, after which he extended warm greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh and the entire country.
Amid the celebrations, Shivpal Yadav didn’t shy away from raising serious concerns regarding the transparency in police recruitment under the Yogi Adityanath government. Yadav expressed his scepticism, alleging that corruption is rampant in various departments, especially in government jobs, and that the state has witnessed repeated paper leaks. “I see no hope for transparency from the current administration. Corruption has reached its peak in the last 10 years, pushing both the state and the country backward,” he remarked.
When asked about Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s praise for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Yadav quipped, “If Maurya wants to keep his position secure, he has no choice but to sing praises.” He also commented on the ongoing legal battle concerning the recruitment of 69,000 teachers in Uttar Pradesh, mentioning that the matter now lies with the courts following decisions by the High Court and Supreme Court.
Touching on the recent incident involving the rape of a doctor in Kolkata, Shivpal Yadav highlighted that during the Samajwadi Party’s tenure, a law was enacted to ensure the safety of medical professionals. He reiterated that the SP government maintained a stance of zero tolerance toward such crimes and emphasised the need for adequate protection for female doctors.
In addition to these concerns, Yadav also criticised the government’s handling of inflation and unemployment, taking the opportunity to address the broader challenges facing the public.
The visit showcased a mix of festive spirit and political discourse as Shivpal Singh Yadav blended family celebrations with vocal criticism of the ruling government’s performance in Uttar Pradesh.
