Srinagar: A salesman was shot dead by terrorists here on Monday. This was the week’s second such attack on a civilian in the city after constable Tawseef Ahmad Wani, 29, was murdered in the Batamaloo region in Srinagar on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Bandipore district’s 45-year-old Ibrahim Khan. He was employed as a salesman for Kashmiri pandit businessman Roshan Lal Mawa. Mawa had set up his business in the old city of the Valley in 2018.
Initially, Khan was admitted to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital but cops later confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries.
The situation has worsened in Jammu and Kashmir since the spate of civilian killings last month. Terrorists belonging to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), gunned down as many as 11 migrants.
Wani — whose family was paid a visit by Union home minister Amit Shah last month — was gunned down outside his residence on Sunday, cops were quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
