Rohan Jaitley Retains Presidency Of DDCA After Tough Contest

NewDelhi: In a fought election battle Rohan Jaitley has managed to secure his position, as the President of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) winning for a term, in a row. The election was intense as Jaitley went up against former cricketer Kirt Azd but emerged victorious by a margin.

In the election results, for Rohan Jaitley and Azaz comparison; Rohan Jaitley secured votes while Azaz got 610 votes out of a total of votes casted in the election where the victory mark was, at 1,207 votes and Jaitley easily exceeded it.

Jaitley scored a win along, with Shikha Kumar who clinched the Vice President position by securing 976 votes beating Rakes h Kumar Bansal who got 434 votes and Sudhir Kumar Agarwal who received 381 votes.The Secretarys role was taken by Ashok Sharma from Jaitleys group. Harish Singla won as Treasurer getting 1049 votes while Amit Grover was named as Joint Secretary.

Four years ago Rohan Jaitley started working as president, at DDCA. Has already accomplished a lot during his leadership term such as organizing five World Cup games at Arun Jaitley Stadium last year and introducing the first Delhi Premier League T20 tournament that showcased players, like Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma.

The main focus of Kirti Azads election campaign was the accusations of corruption, in the DDCA organization; however his strategy did not connect well with the voters leading to his loss in the election. After being removed from the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019 Azad became a member of the Congress party. Later formed an alliance, with Mamata Banerjees Trinamool Congress in 2021.

The outcome of this election is more, than a win for Rohan Jaitley; it also honors the enduring legacy of his father Arun Jaitley in the DDCA community, in Delhi cricket circles.
