Mumbai: In a massive announcement for Indian reality television, entertainment network JioHotstar has revealed that the upcoming season of Bigg Boss will premiere simultaneously in six different languages starting September 2026. For the first time in Indian television history, the popular reality show will launch its regional variants at the exact same time across television channels and the JioHotstar streaming platform.

The upcoming festive season will witness the reality franchise expanding its footprint across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bangla markets. The network has assembled a heavyweight lineup of celebrity hosts to headline the respective regional editions.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will return to host the flagship Hindi version. The southern editions will feature an equally star studded roster, with versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi leading the Tamil version, veteran star Nagarjuna taking charge of the Telugu show, action star Kiccha Sudeep returning for Kannada, and cinema legend Mohanlal anchoring the Malayalam edition. In a major surprise announcement, former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly has been roped in to host Bigg Boss Bangla, adding immense sports star power to the regional franchise.

The digital streaming experience on JioHotstar will feature a round the clock live feed, allowing viewers to monitor the contestants 24/7. Interactive features like live voting and real time chats will be integrated into the application, giving the audience direct power to influence the game dynamics.

The simultaneous multi language launch aims to capitalize on the massive viewership the reality show currently commands. According to network data, the Bigg Boss franchise recorded over 500 million viewers and 438 billion viewing minutes in 2025 alone. Platform statistics reveal that six out of ten JioHotstar viewers actively consume the continuous live feed over regular episodes.

Targeting over 200 million Hindi speaking viewers and 300 million audiences in the southern states during the crucial three month festive shopping period, the network is placing a massive bet on the reality format. To mark this mega launch and celebrate the two decade journey of the show in India, JioHotstar has also released an exclusive coffee table book titled Indias Big Reality.

As the September premiere date approaches, the simultaneous launch across six major languages is set to redefine reality television programming and regional audience engagement in the country.
