Rape Allegation Case: Minister’s Son Absconding, Police Leave Summon At Residence

New Delhi: Rape-accused Rohit Joshi, the son of a Rajasthan minister, is absconding.

A 15-member Delhi Police team reached Jaipur on Sunday to arrest Joshi, but couldn’t find him.

The police team pasted a summon outside the minister’s residence, asking his son to appear before them by May 18.

“Our team of officers reached Jaipur in connection with the case to nab Joshi, who has been absconding. Our teams are conducting searches to locate and trace him,” PTI quoted a senior police officer as saying.

Delhi Police registered a zero FIR last week based on a complaint by a 23-year-old woman from Jaipur, who accused Joshi of raping her multiple times.

The woman stated in her complaint that the minister’s son raped her on several occasions between January 8 last year and April 17, 2022, and also promised to marry her.
