Srinagar: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh travelled to Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, when he met with soldiers after Operation Sindoor, a military operation after a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Speaking to the troops at the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar, Singh commemorated the fallen soldiers and civilians whilst sending a clear message to Pakistan on its nuclear prowess.

In a bold move, Singh demanded the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) take over the supervision of the nuclear arsenal under Pakistan’s control. I would like to ask the world the following question: ‘if a country that misbehaves is given nuclear weapons, should they be trusted?’ he asked, saying Pakistan had used “nuclear blackmail” to blackmail India. His statement comes amid high tensions after Pakistan had thrust heavy shelling and claimed drone attacks in retaliation for India’s counter-terrorism operation.

Singh’s visit was a gesture of support to the armed forces as well as a warning to the western neighbour of India. He cited a mutual understanding between the two countries that Pakistan would not do provocative acts. People listen to this; if they break it, the results will be far-reaching,” he warned while addressing a mass of soldiers and senior military officers.

The minister also remembered the Pahalgam attack in which the terrorists bombed civilians on the grounds of religion. The world realised how our forces responded,” said Singh. They killed innocents for their beliefs. we retaliated against their action”s. He prayed for the soldier’s recovery and remembered the memory of those who were lost to violence.

Singh was on a field visit alongside Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to the remains of Pakistan’s shelling across the border, which highlights the frequency of recent hostilities. The operation Sindoor instituted after the Pahalgam attack was termed a massive storming strike on terrorism in the area.

Singh’s statements regarding Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal are likely to spark debate both locally and on a global scale as India struggles to deal with its neighbouring country, which has complicated ties with their country. Meanwhile, the visit of the Defence Minister has renewed the determination of India to answer any threats while respecting the sacrifices of her soldiers and civilians.
