Rahul Gandhi Rallies In Jahangirpuri Against Modi, Kejriwal Ahead Of Delhi Elections

NewDelhi: With the Delhi Assembly polls approaching, other political parties are also getting ready for their campaigns, and the Congress party is busy with its rallies. On January 30, in Jahangirpuri, in support of Congress candidate and state president Devendra Yadav, Rahul Gandhi delivered a noticeably livelier campaign style.

He appealed to the masses for their support in his address, taking a dig at PM Narendra Modi and Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Rahul Gandhi spelt out his party’s ideological position, saying they were really in an ideological battle.

He delineated the strategies of Congress and those of the RSS, “We do our best to promote love, where as the RSS spreads hate.” Our battle is for the Constitution. He simply did not give in; he asserted that Congress would “never compromise” with the BJP or RSS, even as cases piled up against him and hours of interrogation came his way.

He said he would not be cowed down. The Congress leaders also attacked Kejriwal on the issues concerning the people of Delhi. He pointed out the dire lack of clean water and the poor state of the Yamuna River.

He further challenged the Chief Minister, “Forget the water of Yamuna, drink the water of Delhi & show us, Kejriwal ji.” Gandhi said that Congress had been ever-present in times of need, but Kejriwal has abandoned the citizens of Delhi.

Congress released its Delhi manifesto recently with promises mainly focusing on local issues. Rahul Gandhi reiterated these pledges during his address, including 300 units of free electricity, ₹2,500 “Pyaari Didi” scheme, ₹500 per cylinder, free ration kits, ₹25 lakh in insurance coverage and 8,500 youth guaranteed employment.
