Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu has hailed the upcoming India AI Impact Summit as a landmark event that will position artificial intelligence not merely as a technological leap but as a powerful instrument for inclusive growth and global leadership.

Addressing the Black Swan Summit in Bhubaneswar, organised by the Odisha government in collaboration with the Global Finance and Technology Network, the President emphasised that AI is rapidly reshaping economies and societies. She spotlighted the government’s IndiaAI Mission, which promotes research, innovation, and ethical AI deployment.

“The upcoming India AI Impact Summit, to be held in New Delhi later this month, is expected to attract participation from around 100 countries,” President Murmu stated. She described the summit, scheduled for February 19–20, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, with related programmes and an exhibition from February 16–20, as a platform to leverage global AI expertise for the benefit of people.

Highlighting its strategic importance, she noted that the event will demonstrate India’s capacity to lead in AI on the world stage, ensuring benefits reach marginalised sections historically deprived of opportunities. “AI should expand access to opportunities that have long remained out of reach for large segments of society,” she added, stressing inclusive development over mere innovation.

The president also praised Odisha’s adoption of AI in governance, health, and agriculture for equitable outcomes. While acknowledging AI’s vast economic potential, she cautioned against risks such as deepfakes, misinformation, and cyber fraud, urging responsible use.

As India races to become a knowledge superpower, the summit is poised to bridge global expertise with local needs, fostering AI that serves humanity, accelerates progress, and safeguards dignity.
