New Delhi: In a heated exchange addressing the ongoing debate over the reintroduction of the three farm laws, Congress leader and Deputy Leader of the Rajya Sabha, Pramod Tiwari, sharply criticised BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. The clash highlights the intensifying political rivalry surrounding agricultural policies in India.
Kangana Ranaut, representing the Mandi constituency, recently advocated for the reinstatement of the three farm laws that were repealed following widespread protests by farmers. She asserted that these laws were beneficial for the agricultural sector and should be reintroduced, even if they face opposition.
Responding to Ranaut’s remarks, Pramod Tiwari argued that her statements merely reflect the BJP’s agenda. “Kangana Ranaut is echoing the thoughts of the entire BJP. When the party gains strength, they will undoubtedly reintroduce these three black laws,” Tiwari stated firmly during a press briefing.
Tiwari went on to question Ranaut’s credibility, highlighting her close ties with the BJP leadership. He reminded the media that Ranaut was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Modi government and had previously produced a film on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. “Who is Kangana Ranaut? She is the same individual who was awarded by our Prime Minister and Home Minister and made a film on Indira Gandhi,” Tiwari remarked.
Further criticizing the BJP, Tiwari accused the party of financial mismanagement and questioned the integrity of their temple policies, citing irregularities in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. He alleged that the Tamil Nadu government was involved in financial discrepancies amounting to ₹50,000 crore over the past decade and accused the former Rajasthan administration under Ashok Gehlot of misallocating temple land to Idgah.
Addressing the broader implications of the farm laws, Tiwari warned the BJP that as long as Congress remains in alliance with various political entities, they will resist the reimplementation of the controversial laws. “As long as Congress and India are allied, we will not allow these three black laws to be imposed on our farmers,” he declared.
Kangana Ranaut defended her stance by emphasizing the potential benefits of the farm laws for farmers, despite acknowledging possible disputes. “These laws are in the interest of farmers and should be implemented,” she maintained, reiterating her commitment to agricultural reform.
The exchange between Tiwari and Ranaut underscores the deep divisions within Indian politics over agricultural policies and the future direction of farm reforms. As the debate continues, both parties are gearing up for a vigorous campaign to sway public opinion and secure their positions ahead of upcoming elections.
