Planning Holy Kumbh Mela Dip? Negative COVID Test Report A Must

New Delhi: The Uttarakhand High Court has made the RT-PCR test mandatory for devotees planning to attend the Kumbh Mela next month.

The court’s order comes within days of state chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat announcing that there will be no restrictions on Kumbh Mela tourists other than the Centre’s guidelines on COVID-19, timesnownews.com reported.

Thousands of devotees are expected to visit Haridwar for taking a holy dip in the Ganges from April 1.

A sharp spike in coronavirus positive cases in several states has led to widespread apprehension that there could be an upsurge in cases during the month of Kumbh Mela.

India reported 47,262 fresh coronavirus cases and 275 deaths in the last 24 hours.
