Passenger Tries To Open Emergency Door On Delhi-Chennai IndiGo Flight

New Delhi: A passenger allegedly attempted to open the emergency door of an IndiGo aircraft midair, spreading panic.

“This is to inform you that Flight 6e 6341 arrived in Bay no 52, Upon arrival crew have identified one passenger tried to open emergency exit door [sic],” News18 reported quoting a letter it accessed by IndiGo to CISF assistant commandant.

The airliner added that it is filing a complaint with the airport police station as per procedure under the unruly passenger form that has been filled in the matter.

Earlier in July, a 29-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh was booked at Bangalore International Airport after he allegedly tried to open the rear-left emergency door of an Air France 194 aircraft mid-air.

Police however said the passenger, identified as Venkat Mohith Achari, had a mental condition and the incident.

Before that, in April, a 40-year-old passenger aboard a Delhi-Bengaluru IndiGo Airlines flight tried to open the emergency exit on the plane. According to the airlines, the flyer was in an inebriated state and was cautioned by the airline authorities. He was handed over to a CISF team upon arrival in Bengaluru.
