New Delhi: India was in a celebratory mood on Wednesday as the country witnessed the historic Ram temple bhoomi pujan in Ayodhya. The momentous, much-awaited foundation-laying ceremony of the temple was performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at noon.
Most Opposition parties took to Twitter to welcome the bhoomi pujan ceremony at Ayodhya.
Some parties, however, questioned the Centre and UP government’s active role, stating it to be a violation of the Supreme Court’s verdict which said that the work should be entrusted to a trust. Some also questioned Doordarshan’s live telecast of a politico-religious function.
