Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday announced that all offices and shops in Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Nagpur have been closed till March 31 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Essential services such as groceries, medicines and milk will be made available from time to time, Thackeray said.
Banks, however, will remain open.
CM Uddhav Thackeray announces that from this Midnight, all workplaces will remain closed till 31st March.
This is applicable in Mumbai, MMR Region, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Nagpur.

With 52 positive cases, Maharashtra is the worst-hit state in the country.
Thackeray also asked employers not to stop salaries of employees.
Public transport closure would be the “last resort”, he added asking people to stop crowding local trains and buses.
Government offices will operate at 25 per cent attendance in Mumbai.
