Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday dismissed six employees from service and held up the pension of four retired employees as part of its commitment to cleanse the system of corruption and ensure transparency in governance.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said the six government employees dismissed from the service are:
- Sanjit Kumar Ray, junior clerk (Commerce & Transport department) of Kuanrmunda tehsil in Sundargarh district
- Baikuntha Bihari Pradhan, assistant engineer, ITDA, Jeypore in Koraput district
- Bhagirathi Biswal, veterinary doctor of Naktideula in Sambalpur district
- Basant Kumar Patra, junior engineer (Panchayati Raj & Drinking water department) at Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district
- Trilochan Seth, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) at Kutra block in Sundargarh district
- Astama Chandra Patel, PEO of Bonaigarh block in Sundargarh district.
Besides, the four retired employees whose pension has been held up are:
- Goutam Chandra Prusty, executive engineer
- Bikram Keshari Patnaik, general manager, Odisha Construction Corporation (OCC)
- Rabindra Kumar Jena, establishment officer in the office of the Drainage Chief Engineer Cuttack
- Rabi Narayan Mohanty, Junior Engineer, ITDA, Baripada.
The CM on August 17 had ordered the dismissal of 15 employees from the service and stopped the pension of two retired employees.
