Patna: The Bihar Police Headquarters has issued strong orders, threatening legal action against those who perform double-meaning Bhojpuri songs in public. The action was taken to stop the increasing publicly played unpleasant music on buses and in other public places.

We will closely inspect public transport vehicles—buses, cars, lorries, and rickshaws—to identify those performing vulgar or suggestive Bhojpuri music. The police will start a specific campaign to eliminate the disturbance since the nature of the music makes numerous women insecure.
The officials stressed that everyone caught breaking the rule will be brought to justice based on parts of the Indian Penal Code. The issue had been discussed earlier in the Bihar Assembly, where the government had promised to act forcefully against violators.
The police also appealed to the general public to document instances of public performances of such tunes. If the public observes any infringement, they should notify the police about the situation so that action against the criminals could start right away.
