No COVID Death For The First Time In Maximum City

Mumbai: It was a day to rejoice for Mumbaikars. The city which was severely hit by COVID-19 pandemic for long periods reported zero deaths for the first time since nationwide lockdown was imposed in end-March last year.

The Maximum city registered 367 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours without a single fatality, as per data provided by Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.

It’s quite a contrast to some months ago when Maharashtra’s capital city reported 60,000 cases and about 400 deaths daily during the peak of second wave.

The last time Maharashtra’s capital city reported zero deaths was on March 26, 2020.

The recovery rate in the country’s financial capital is 97%, while positivity rate has dipped to 1.27%.

There are 5,030 active cases currently in the city.
