Patna: In a heartwarming gesture during the Chhath Puja celebrations, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the residence of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan on Sunday to partake in the traditional Kharna prasad.

The visit, marked by warmth and mutual respect, saw Chirag touching Nitish’s feet to seek blessings, a moment captured in pictures shared widely on social media.

As Bihar and northern India immerse themselves in the fervour of Chhath, this meeting between the leaders of NDA allies, JDU and LJP (Ram Vilas), hints at mending past tensions.

Chirag, who has often criticised the state government on law and order issues, expressed gratitude for Nitish’s gesture. “Thank you, Hon’ble CM, for visiting my home, sharing Kharna prasad, and blessing my family with Chhath greetings,” he wrote online.

The visit holds political significance amid Bihar’s charged electoral atmosphere. Chirag addressed speculations about discord, stating, “Today is special. The CM’s visit and blessings mean a lot. Some tried to create controversies, but our ties remain strong.” He dismissed rumours of friction and emphasised the enduring bond between the two parties.

Nitish’s presence at Chirag’s home, especially during the sacred Chhath rituals, underscores a message of unity and cultural harmony.

As the state gears up for elections, this interaction could reshape political narratives, showcasing camaraderie within the NDA fold.
