Mumbai: In a major development, Satish Salian, the father of deceased celebrity manager Disha Salian, has approached the Mumbai High Court and filed a petition seeking a new investigation into the death of his daughter. He makes serious allegations, including of a horrific murder after a gang rape. Salian has sought the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to carry out the probe and an honest officer such as Sameer Wankhede to oversee it.

Salian has claimed that the Mumbai Police and former Mayor Kishori Pednekar misled him and put pressure on him. He faces accusations of monitoring and pressure to accept the presented evidence as truthful. The petition names individuals such as Aditya Thackeray, Suraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and the Mumbai Police, and it asserts that the allegations made by BJP leader and Minister Nitin Rane regarding Disha’s death contain factual elements.

The petition seeks registration of a criminal offence against Aditya Thackeray and pressuring the Salian family against Kishori Pednekar. It also wants a transparent probe — ideally to be done outside the state — and the release of Disha’s post-mortem video and every document related to it. It has also sought the mobile tower locations of Aditya Thackeray, Suraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, and, at the time of the incident, Aditya’s bodyguard. The family also requested the return of Disha’s phone and laptop, currently in the possession of her boyfriend Rohan Rai.

Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, allegedly jumping off a high-rise building in Mumbai’s Malad area. The actor’s death came just six days before the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, which also sparked a plethora of speculation and rumours.
