New Delhi: The online registration and verification of candidates applying for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 will be made more stringent to eliminate the possibility of any discrepancies.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which will conduct the exams on May 3, will introduce a live photograph feature, among others, to detect impersonation and fraud, media reports have said. The measures are being taken following a probe into alleged irregularities in 6000 medical admissions in Tamil Nadu this year.
Applicants might be additionally asked to:
1. Provide Class X and Class XII roll numbers and identity cards.
2. Upload live photos to help invigilators at the exam centres to verify the live image in case of discrepancies or mismatch with the photo in the identity card.
3. Carry identity cards along with the admit cards to the exam centres.
Officials in the Human Resource and Development Ministry said the additional data will help NTA to “verify, match and flag cases of discrepancies”.
The online registration for NEET 2020 will begin from December 2 and continue till the month-end. The admit cards will be issued on March 27, 2020. The exam will be conducted on May 3, 2020, and the results will be declared on June 4, 2020.
