Murder Mystery Unveiled: How Police Tracked Down Mukesh Chandrakar’s Killer!

Bijapur: So far in the murder case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar, the Hyderabad police have arrested the key accused, Suresh Chandrakar. The arrest was made by the Bijapur Cyber Police and the SIT, the team that went through about 300 mobile phone call details records and 200 CCTV cameras were also considered.

Mukesh Chandrakar, who blew the whistle on corruption in the road-building project in Bijapur district, has been reported missing since 1st January. His dead body was found three days later in a septic tank belonging to Suresh Chandrakar, who was the contractor awarded the construction of the road. The police probe found that along with Suresh and his brother Ritesh, the group’s supervisor, Mahendra Ramteke, also played a part in the savage killing of the journalist.

As reported to the police, Mukesh had previously complained to his superiors that there had been some foul play in the awarding of a road construction tender, something that caused some sort of friction between him and Suresh. According to the police report, on January 1, Ritesh called Mukesh to meet him at this place where he, with Mahender, stabbed Mukesh with a steel rod, killing him. After the murder, they buried him in the septic tank in order to get rid of him forever.

The police, before arresting Ritesh Chandrakar of Amla City, Mahendra Ramteke, and another relative, Dinesh Chandrakar, were arrested in the crime and tried to tamper with the evidence. Suresh was arrested after he was discovered living at his driver’s house in Hyderabad.

SIT has been instituted to investigate this high-profile case with vigour and detail. Tesse also says that officials have also seized and/or frozen Suresh’s bank accounts to track his movements and activities in relation to the supposed crime.

Locals in the area have made their stand clear that they will not let Mukesh Chandrakar’s death go unsolved and assure press freedom and safety in the area.
