Mukesh Ambani, Family Get Threat Calls

Mumbai: Industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family received three threat calls on Monday, August 15 on the phone number of Reliance Foundation’s Harskisandas Hospital around 10:30 am, India Today reported.

The DB Marg police are trying to get more information. In a statement, the Mumbai Police said: “Reliance Foundation has filed a complaint about the threat calls to Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and his family. More than three calls were received at the hospital. A probe is underway.”

A man was detained in the Dahisar area in the western suburbs of Mumbai for his alleged connection to the threat calls. Officials from Reliance Industries and a senior doctor from the hospital recorded their statements at the DB Marg police station later in the day, the report added.

It may be recalled that last year, a Scorpio car with 20 explosive gelatin sticks and a threat letter was found outside Mukesh Ambani’s Mumbai residence ‘Antilia.’ Several cops, including Mumbai’s crime intelligence unit headed by Sachin Vaze, reached the spot for investigation. Sachin Vaze took over as the lead investigator in the case.
