Mother Of Two Mysteriously Vanishes, Husband Alleges Murder

Lucknow: A woman in the Kotwali area of Ghazipur has apparently left her husband and two small children to move in with her lover. Her husband, who had waited for days for her to return, has subsequently made a police complaint because he has not heard from his wife.

Kanhaiya Ram Bind, husband of the murdered woman, said he did not get any help from family members of his wife despite contacting them several times. However, he claimed that his in-laws were hostile with him and threatened legal action against him instead. He has also attempted suicide. He refrained from succeeding for the sake of his children. The emotional turmoil took an extreme toll on him.

Kanhaiya, who is partially blind due to cataracts, told the police that his wife had run away from home, taking cash and jewellery with her. The police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) naming four individuals, and the mother has filed a missing person report. On Wednesday, the panchayat reported that villagers had spotted her leaving with an unknown person.

Following the Village Police Station (PS), eyewitnesses from the village stated that she was seen going with an unknown object (person), sparking fears about her sudden disappearance. When Kanhaiya came to know about this, he conveyed the message to his in-laws, but they too reacted coldly and began to threaten him instead of helping him.

While Kanhaiya has made countless phone calls, his wife is still not home. He repeatedly begged her to return for their children, but she refused. Twice he tried to kill himself and failed, saying he always thought of his children before going through with it, but ultimately it was his worsening mental health, the lack of money, and the stigma attached that came with it.

As a final resort, Kanhaiya approached the Kotwali police station and lodged an FIR against his wife, his in-laws and an unknown person. Taking cognisance of the complaint, the police have registered a case under Sections 87, 61(2) and 351(3) of the IPC and initiated further investigation in the case.

Many in the community have expressed concern over the husband and the two children he left behind as a result of the incident. Detectives are currently searching for the missing woman and investigating the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
