Nassau County police removed the inflammatory banners and propaganda materials that had been distributed in the area. According to a CNN report, local officials expressed concern over the activities of Khalistani groups, noting that only a small number of individuals are involved in such protests.
US officials emphasised their commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic relations with India and reiterated that they would not tolerate any actions that could embarrass either government during this important visit.
